BFI London Film Festival Unveils 2016 Lineup

The 60th BFI London Film Festival has announced its full lineup for 2016. The fest, which runs October 5-16, will screen 193 fiction and 52 documentary features, including 18 World Premieres, 8 International Premieres, 39 European Premieres. There will also be screenings of 144 short films, including documentary, live action and animated works.

Nate Parker’s The Birth of a Nation, will be among the films receiving gala screenings. The others include Damien Chazelle’s La La Land, Lone Scherfig’s Their Finest, Kenneth Lonergan’s Manchester by the Sea, Oliver Stone’s Snowden, J.A. Bayona’s A Monster Calls, Denis Villeneuve’s Arrival and Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals.

As previously announced, the festival opens with the European premiere of Amma Asante’s A United Kingdom and closes with the European premiere of Ben Wheatley’s Free Fire. The full-
